Initially, Sebastian had spent the majority of his Hypnosis practice focusing on three basic issues: Weight Loss, Smoke Cessation, and Life Coaching.
For weight loss, he develops an individual diet plan, drawing on his studies while ghostwriting a nationally known fitness book and also his own cookbook, The Protein-Powered Vegetarian. He then maps out an exercise plan, using his yoga and Pilates studies. Sebastian also teaches yoga at the Green Hills YMCA in Nashville on Wednesday and Friday mornings.
Sebastian tells stories of many weight-challenged individuals who say they have no time for exercise or meal preparation. Within fifteen minutes he finds ways for them to begin increasing healthy heart, legs, and core function with something as simple as bouncing on a fitness ball while watching a thirty-minute television program.
You may recognize Sebastian from teaching cooking on Channel Five's Talk of the Town or at Wild Oats (now Whole Foods). or at the Southern Women's Show. Using his proven cooking techniques, he often will take time to teach weight loss clients, who have little or no understanding of cooking, some basic food preparation. Sebastian says, "Nothing I cook takes longer than thirty minutes to prepare. Fresh food and healthy choices take minimal planning, but provide necessary nutrients and energy to undo illness and body aches and pains that have accompanied unhealthy lifestyles."
Sebastian simplifies the process even more by taking the clients deep into hypnosis and coaching the subconscious to respond without resistance to these new programs. He says that many people have lost a considerable amount of weight using these techniques. But more importantly, his clients become healthier individuals with much more energy for life and happiness.
Sebastian says that most habits, such as overeating and cigarette smoking are quite literally smoke screens covering something much deeper. Subsequently, sessions usually reveal these deeper feelings and fears, and his work as a Life Coach urges even the strongest nonbelievers into liberation and more peace, and ultimately a happier, more prosperous life in every aspect.
Most recently Sebastian has been branching off into more varied atmospheres. At Green Hill Healing Arts, he works with a team of healing practitioners to provide help for all habits, but specifically he and owner Katherine McDaniel are jointly using both hypnotherapy and massage therapy to overcome chronic weight problems.
Conceptually, the technique unearths in the subconscious mind, problems which out-picture in the conscious, reasoning self. These issues may concern overeating, resistance to exercise, and poor self image.
Then with yoga, healing touch, and massage therapy, McDaniel and Sebastian unearth and help cleanse the residual effects of such thinking in the body and mind. "It's a win, win situation," says Sebastian. "Besides getting an amazing two hours of massage and healing mind therapy, you come out of the process losing weight and feeling healthier and more energetic. What we have seen so far in our work is astounding. The system is new, but the clients are loving it and losing considerable weight without much struggle."
Sebastian has also recently begun working with a team of psychotherapists, healing touch practitioners, doctors, and psychologists as a consulting, clinical hypnotist at the Evelyn Frye Center at Baptist Hospital. There he hopes to attract more mainstream clients in this atmosphere, specifically for weight issues, smoking cessation, fears, and sleep deprivation, as his own insomnia actually brought him to study hypnotherapy in New York City twelve years ago, under world renowned hypnotherapist, Nancy Donenfeld.
Yes, Bo is quite literally a man of many talents and skills. He has used his vegetarian cooking skills for Buddhist lamas and spiritual leaders such as Bhante Wimala and Arun Ghandi. Even his beautiful home was recently featured in a Nashville paper for its style and flair. He'a a Renaissance man, for sure. And if you have not heard him sing, you are in for a treat. He is a recording artist and vocal coach, as well.
